Sagra du Pani Cunzatu Festival

The 2025 edition of the Sagra du Pani Cunzatu took place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, starting at 7:30 PM, in Piazza Quasimodo in Gliaca di Piraino, a coastal hamlet of the Municipality of Piraino (Messina). The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Piraino, confirmed its role as a symbolic appointment of the local summer.

As per tradition, hundreds of portions of pani cunzatu were distributed—warm bread topped with extra virgin olive oil, tomatoes, oregano, anchovies, and pecorino cheese. The evening, enlivened by music and entertainment, closed with the classic prize draw. The festival was part of the busy calendar of the 2025 Piraino Summer, which also featured concerts and shows throughout the village in August.
