About San Lorenzo

On August 10th, on Saint Lawrence's Day, Offanengo celebrates its patron saint with the sagra (festival) organized by the Pro Loco. In Piazza Senatore Patrini, the community and many who return to the village for the summer gather: a solemn mass, a band concert, tortelli tasting, and a funfair provide the backdrop for one of the most cherished events in the Offanengo calendar, in the heart of the Cremasco region.

Offanengo's Patron Saint

Saint Lawrence, remembered on August 10th, is the patron saint of Offanengo, a municipality in the province of Cremona a few kilometers from Crema. The Sagra di San Lorenzo is the patron saint festival that annually brings the village together around its saint, on one of the hottest and most lively dates of the Cremasco summer.

Between Faith, Brass Bands, and Tortelli

Organized by the Pro Loco of Offanengo together with the San Lorenzo Brass Band and the Municipality, the sagra combines the religious dimension, with a solemn mass in honor of the patron saint, and the convivial aspect. In Piazza Senatore Patrini, the heart of the village, the band concert and the tasting of tortelli, a specialty of the Cremasco tradition, are held, while the funfair and rides liven up the festival for all ages.

A Community Celebration

The patron saint festival is the moment when Offanengo comes together: families, the elderly, and young people, as well as those who have returned to the village for their summer holidays, share the celebration in the piazza. It is an event that tells the story of the identity of a village in the Cremasco region, where religious traditions and good food continue to be the glue for the entire community.
