The patronal festival of Maserà

In Maserà di Padova, in the province of Padua, the Sagra della Natività della Beata Vergine is the event that closes the summer. It takes place between late August and September 8th, the day the Church celebrates the Nativity of Mary, the patron saint of the town's parish. It is the patronal festival, deeply felt and widely participated, around which the community revolves.

Dancing, music, and food stand

The event combines the religious dimension with the convivial one: in the Viale Kennedy area, equipped with ample parking, evenings of dancing and light music alternate with the large food stand, which offers traditional Venetian dishes. The most solemn moment is the procession, accompanied by Holy Mass, at the heart of the celebrations.

A community of volunteers

Behind the sagra is an impressive amount of volunteer work: about 150 people, both young and old, coordinate their energies to bring the festival to life and financially support the numerous activities of the parish. Organized by the Parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the patronage of the Municipality of Maserà di Padova, the sagra is a living example of how, in the towns of Veneto, the patronal festival remains a community binder.
