Sagra della Beata Vergine della Salute

In 2025, the Sagra della Beata Vergine della Salute renewed the tradition in the hamlet of Capitello, in Fiesso Umbertiano. The festival, dedicated to the Madonna della Salute, featured the genuine cuisine of the Polesine region — tortellini, polenta with mushrooms, bondola and cotechino, stewed beans, and zuppa inglese — opening with the Festa della bondola and a convivial dinner at the former schools. The religious highlight was the Holy Mass in the church of the Madonna della Salute, followed by the procession with the statue of the Madonna accompanied by the town band, while the cuccagna and the chestnut roast with mulled wine concluded the festivities. Organised by the Capitello Festival Committee, the festival confirmed its role as a community event that closes the autumn season in Polesine.
