The 2025 Holy Week in Maenza
The 2025 edition of the Sacred Passion Play took place regularly in the village of Maenza, in the province of Latina, unfolding as usual over two appointments.
Palm Sunday, April 13
On the afternoon of Sunday, April 13, the historic center hosted the scene of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, preceded by some episodes of his public life: the Baptism in the Jordan, the miracles, and the expulsion of the merchants from the temple. The route wound toward the heart of the village.
Good Friday, April 18
The most anticipated moment was held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 9 PM, with a gathering at Piazzale San Rocco. The itinerant theatrical performance unfolded for about three and a half kilometers, allowing spectators to follow the costumed actors on foot through the final hours of Jesus' life, up to the Crucifixion and Resurrection.
In 2025, the event once again drew thousands of visitors to southern Lazio, confirming its status as one of the most followed Easter events in the province of Latina.
