Sacred Drama of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle — Patronal Feast of Greci

In 2025, the Arbëreshë village in the province of Avellino once again renewed its most defining tradition. On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 9:00 PM, the nineteenth Caciocavallo Festival took place, dedicated to the territory's signature cheese, ancient recipes, and family entertainment.

On Monday, August 25, 2025, the day of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle, the Sacred Drama was performed: five acts on the Apostle's martyrdom in Armenia, from his preaching to his miracles, the conversion of King Polimio, the condemnation by King Astiage, and finally his flaying and apotheosis. The performances were held in Piazza Caroseno at 12:00 PM and 9:30 PM, with over a hundred local actors and extras in period costumes. The day was completed by liturgical celebrations and the procession of the patron saint and the Madonna del Caroseno.
