A festival of cinema, music, and human rights regarding migration at the Casa del Cinema in Rome
S-Cambiamo il Mondo is a film festival dedicated to the themes of migration, human rights, and cross-cultural encounters, held every June at the Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese, in the city of Rome, capital of the Lazio region. Promoted by the Associazione DUN Onlus, an organization long committed to the psychological care of migrants and refugees, the event is born from a simple yet powerful idea: to intertwine care with creativity, using cinema as a tool to spark emotions, promote dialogue, and stimulate change.
Through screenings, meetings, and personal testimonies, S-Cambiamo il Mondo portrays migration as a symbol of fruitful exchange between peoples, courageously addressing issues of racism, inequality, exploitation, and gender-based violence. Each edition revolves around a central theme and presents the DUN Human Rights Award, a recognition dedicated to those who publicly and passionately defend fundamental rights.
The festival enjoys the support and collaboration of major cultural and humanitarian organizations, including the Fondazione Migrantes, Amnesty International Italia, the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Cineteca Nazionale, and the journal Eidos cinema psyche e arti visive.
The program goes beyond screenings: films are interspersed with debates featuring guests from the worlds of culture, entertainment, and social activism, as well as concerts and exhibitions born from the association's multi-ethnic workshops. A blend of languages that makes the event a multidisciplinary experience, capable of speaking to both the mind and the heart.
The Casa del Cinema, housed in the former Casina delle Rose within Villa Borghese, is one of the most evocative venues in the Capital for experiencing the big screen: halls named after masters of Italian cinema, an open-air theater, and a historic park just a stone's throw from the city center. A setting that makes S-Cambiamo il Mondo not just a cultural appointment, but a community event open to the entire city.
The ninth edition of S-Cambiamo il Mondo, scheduled for June 20-21, 2026, at the Casa del Cinema in Villa Borghese, chose as its guiding thread the theme "Affetti in scena. Pace e culture". Two days packed with screenings, debates, music, and multi-ethnic workshops, promoted by the Associazione DUN Onlus with the support of the Fondazione Migrantes and Amnesty International Italia.
The heart of the event was the presentation of the 2026 DUN Human Rights Award to art historian Tomaso Montanari, a recognition dedicated to those who passionately defend fundamental rights.
