Ruvo di Puglia Carnival 2025

The 2025 edition opened on Thursday, February 27 in Piazza Matteotti with "U Kalzaun di Riuve", a culinary parade with tastings, theatrical performances in the Rubastino dialect, dance, and live music, enriched by entertainment and games for children.

Saturday, March 1 and Monday, March 3 featured the itinerant performance "L'agonia di Mbà Bìose", with dialect sketches and visits to the carnival character's dwelling. The closing, on Tuesday, March 4 (Shrove Tuesday), saw the funeral procession "E murta Mbà Bìose", from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM through the town streets: announcement of death, funeral chapel in Piazza Matteotti, procession with the family, the Quarantana, and the Bassa Banda of the "Basilio Giandonato" Association, reading of the satirical will, and the traditional burning of the effigy. The event was organized by the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia with Confcommercio and local folk groups.
