The running festival of San Donato, between sport, prevention, and solidarity
RunDonato is the most anticipated running event in San Donato Milanese, in the province of Milan: not just a race, but a true running festival that combines sport, prevention, and solidarity. Now in its eleventh edition, the event spans two days, with its headquarters at the Enrico Mattei Sports Center.
It all begins on Saturday with the opening of the village at the Mattei Sports Center: local associations, partners, and stands liven up the day, in anticipation of the race. It's time to collect bibs, but also to connect the many sports and social realities that make RunDonato a collective event.
Sunday is the main day. At 9:00 AM, the FIDAL-sanctioned 10 km competitive race kicks off from Via Caviaga, reserved for registered athletes. Following that are the non-competitive events open to everyone: the 10 km and 5 km, the Heart Walk at a leisurely pace designed for families, and the RunDonatina, the one-mile run for the little ones. A range of routes that truly allows anyone to participate, from the trained runner to the child taking their first steps.
RunDonato has a very strong solidarity and prevention ethos. The partner IRCCS Policlinico San Donato sets up health education stations, offering blood pressure checks and well-being advice. The proceeds from registrations are donated to local associations โ including Aiutiamoli a vivere, AVO, AICCA, the Fondazione Cuore Fratello, the Banco di Solidarietร , and the local Caritas. Running here also means doing good for one's community, in an event that unites all of San Donato.
