Ruffanìadi – Neighborhood Festival

The seventh edition of the Ruffanìadi – Neighborhood Festival transformed Ruffano into a great community tournament for seven unforgettable days, from August 25 to 31, 2025. Eight neighborhoods — Caleddu, Matine, Vatardu, San Nicola–Santa Fumìa–Magnune, Puzzu Nou, Termete, Chiazza, and Campu Sportivo–Salite — faced each other evening after evening in a spirit of celebration and friendship.

The events alternated between relay races, treasure hunts, traditional games, and obstacle courses, with neighborhood parades and street band performances in the central squares. The grand finale, on Sunday, August 31, in Piazza Libertà, crowned the winning neighborhood with the spectacular grease pole competition, enlivened by the athletes of the Acrobati della Cuccagna Italia.

The week of competitions (August 25 – 31, 2025)

For seven days, the neighborhoods of Ruffano competed every evening in the town squares, alternating team events and festive moments:

• Relay races and lighting of the torch in the neighborhoods
• Neighborhood parade with banners and street band performance
• Traditional Salento games, treasure hunt, and obstacle courses

Sunday, August 31 — Grand finale in Piazza Libertà

The final evening, in Piazza Libertà, featured the spectacular grease pole competition with the athletes of the Acrobati della Cuccagna Italia, followed by the proclamation of the winning neighborhood among the eight competing districts.
