Carnival in the heart of Rovato

In the Municipality of Rovato, in the province of Brescia, Carnival is celebrated in grand style in Piazza Cavour, which for an afternoon becomes the stage for masks, parades, and entertainment. It's a celebration designed to involve everyone, from children to adults, in the cheerful and carefree atmosphere that characterizes this occasion.

The event is organized by Rovato Eventi, with the patronage of the Municipality and the collaboration of the Pro Loco. Each year, the Rovato Carnival chooses a different theme to inspire costumes, decorations, and atmosphere, renewing the fun edition after edition.

The handmade mask contest

One of the most characteristic elements of the Rovato Carnival is the handmade mask contest. To be judged by the jury, masks must be made by the participants themselves, not bought or rented: a rule that rewards creativity and effort, and makes the parade a true contest of imagination. Those wearing a non-handmade costume can still participate in the parade, but without competing for prizes.

Rovato and Franciacorta celebrate

Carnival is one of the times when the community of Rovato, the gateway to Lombardy's Franciacorta, gathers in the square to share a day of celebration. Amidst music, confetti, and awards, the event enlivens the historic center and offers adults and children an afternoon of pure joy.
