Edition 2025 — Roots, Art and Flavors
The 2025 edition in Aquara
From August 1 to 3, 2025, the historic center of Aquara hosted the second edition of "Roots – Art and Flavors," organized by the Pro Loco Aquara APS. Compared to the 2024 debut, the event grew from two to three evenings, consolidating the formula that alternates dance, folk music, and summer carnival.
Friday, August 1, the food stands opened at 7:30 PM with cured meats, artisanal cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, traditional desserts, and local wines, while the village strèttule came alive with street artists and itinerant music; in the evening, the concert by the Fruit Joy Big Band. Saturday, August 2, Piazza Indipendenza hosted the 9th "Aquara in Dance" festival, curated by A.C. Tersicore. Sunday, August 3, at 7:00 PM, the procession started from Piazza Vittorio Veneto for the twinning between the Traditional Carnival of Aquara and the "Carnival of the Poor" of Olevano sul Tusciano, followed by the concert of Marco Bruno and Namarà.
"Roots – Art and Flavors was born from the desire to restore dignity and visibility to our past," explained the Pro Loco president Massimiliano Caruso when presenting the edition, built around the rediscovery of ancient crafts and Cilento peasant cuisine.
