Edition 2025 — Roccapalumba Living Nativity

The 2025 edition of the Roccapalumba Living Nativity took place on December 15, beneath the Rocca, in the historic center of the village in the province of Palermo. Organized by APS OHANA, the nativity animated the ancient caves and stone dwellings with taverns, workshops, bakeries, and sheepfolds, where over eighty costumed performers reconstructed 19th-century Sicilian rural life amidst dialect songs, bagpipes, and tastings of local products.

Living Nativity «beneath the Rocca» 2025

On December 15, 2025, Roccapalumba renewed its appointment with its Living Nativity beneath the Rocca, set up by APS OHANA in the heart of the historic center. The caves and ancient dwellings carved into the rock were transformed once again into taverns, blacksmith and carpenter workshops, dairies, bakeries, and sheepfolds, animated by over eighty costumed performers.

Visitors walked through the village alleys, immersing themselves in the rural Sicily of the late 19th century, amidst traditional songs in dialect accompanied by bagpipes and flutes, and tastings of warm ricotta, chickpea soup, seasoned bread, pasta with wild fennel, and Christmas sweets like ucciddati and muffulietti. An edition that confirmed the nativity as one of the most heartfelt Christmas events in the Sicani Mountains.
