In 2025, the Rito della Caremma returned to animate the historic center of Presicce-Acquarica, in the province of Lecce, renewing the appointment with one of the most evocative Lenten traditions of Salento. The performance combined theater, music, and collective participation around the ancient figure of the old woman dressed in black.
As per tradition, the central moment was the fire ritual: a symbolic gesture of transformation and renewal, shared with the community present. The initiative, curated by the Bottega della Memoria with Terramia Social Experience and the Municipal Library, reaffirmed the value of folk memory and social bonds in the region.
