About Rencontres Musicales
Conegliano: The Capital of Chamber Music
Rencontres Musicales is the new International Chamber Music Festival launching in Conegliano, in the province of Treviso. Conceived by violinist Paolo Tagliamento, who serves as artistic director, the festival brings musicians from Germany, Argentina, Switzerland, Spain, Georgia, and Hungary to the city.
A Laboratory, Not Just Concerts
The festival's core idea is that of a musical laboratory: not just performances, but also study, open rehearsals, masterclasses, and seminars designed to bring students and enthusiasts closer to the intimate and dialogical dimension of chamber music. The spaces at Villa Gera in Conegliano host the musicians during their working stay.
Concerts in Beautiful Settings
The concerts take place in settings of great charm: the Teatro Accademia in Conegliano, the Abbey of Santa Maria in Follina, and the former Convent of San Francesco. A dialogue between great music and architectural heritage, in the heart of the Marca Trevigiana.
Rencontres Musicales — edition 2026
The first edition of Rencontres Musicales debuted in Conegliano from April 28 to May 3, 2026, under the artistic direction of violinist Paolo Tagliamento.
The festival featured three concerts in beautiful locations—the Teatro Accademia, the Abbey of Santa Maria in Follina, and the former Convent of San Francesco—alongside masterclasses and open rehearsals with musicians from Germany, Argentina, Switzerland, Spain, Georgia, and Hungary, hosted in the spaces of Villa Gera.

Getting Here
Conegliano is served by the train station (Venice-Udine line) and the A27 motorway (Conegliano exit). The Abbey of Follina can be reached by car from Conegliano.
