A village festival in the heart of the Ferrara plain
The Renazzo Pear Festival is one of the most beloved summer festivals in the Bassa region, organized by the Pro Loco Renazzo Aps in the hamlet of Renazzo, in the Municipality of Cento, province of Ferrara (Emilia-Romagna). Founded in the late seventies, the event will reach its 47th edition in 2026, confirming itself as the summer event that brings the entire Renazzo community together around the pear, the symbolic fruit of local agriculture.
The pear, queen of the table
The heart of the festival is the food stand managed by Pro Loco volunteers, where the pear becomes the star of delicious dishes that blend Emilian tradition and peasant inventiveness. Among the specialties that return year after year: tortelloni with cheese and pears, gramigna with pancetta, roast pork with pear sauce, sausage, friggione, French fries, and a trio of local desserts, often accompanied by the characteristic pear liqueur. There is also a BierGarten for more informal evenings.
Music, shows, and fun for everyone
Every evening the square transforms into an open-air stage: dancing evenings with Discoring, tribute band concerts, comedy shows, and light music that gets young and old dancing until late at night. For the younger ones, there is the Area dei Balocchi (Play Area), carousels, and play areas; for sports enthusiasts, the traditional volleyball tournaments (RenazVolley), tennis, and card tournaments like burraco.
Tradition, faith, and community
The Pear Festival coincides with the feast of the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, with religious celebrations and a procession that strengthen the bond between the festival and the village's roots. Alongside food and music, there are photographic exhibitions, art displays, craft markets, and cultural initiatives that liven up the streets around Piazza Ferruccio Lamborghini. It is an authentically popular festival, where volunteering and community spirit remain the true protagonists.

The 2026 edition will be held from Friday, July 17 to Monday, July 20, 2026 in Renazzo di Cento, with evening opening of the stands starting at 7:00 PM. Admission is free and the event takes place outdoors in the center of the hamlet.

How to get there
Renazzo is a hamlet of Cento, in the province of Ferrara. It is easily reached by car from the Via Emilia and from the nearby motorway exits (A13 Bologna-Padova, Altedo or Ferrara Sud exit, then provincial roads towards Cento). The nearest train station is Cento, connected by bus lines to the town center.
