Edition 2025 — Renaissance Festival Montecuccolo

The second edition of the Renaissance Festival at Montecuccolo Castle took place on Sunday, September 7, 2025, with a richer program than its debut. Organized by La Corte dei Montecuccoli, it animated the manor of Pavullo nel Frignano with flag-wavers, conferences, historical dances, ancient music concerts, and historical craft stalls.

The 2025 edition, the second of the event, was held on Sunday, September 7th at Montecuccolo Castle in Pavullo nel Frignano (Modena), organized by the re-enactment group La Corte dei Montecuccoli.

Activities began at 4:00 PM with the inauguration by the flag-wavers of the Contrada Monticelli of Quattro Castella, followed by the conference 'Renaissance of Blood' (Rinascimento rosso sangue), dedicated to crimes and vendettas of Renaissance courts. At 6:00 PM, there was a meeting with court characters and historical dances, followed by a concert by the Compagnia del Sarandello performing popular 17th-century music. At 8:30 PM, the final show by the flag-wavers took place on the castle's illuminated terrace.

Throughout the afternoon, historical stalls were set up: the Gufi Mill, the chess game, the court herbalist, the balsamic vinegar exhibition, the honey corner, bread-making according to ancient recipes, as well as the 'cave of mysteries' and the 'gate of the fairies'. The Pro Loco of Pavullo offered borlenghi and crescentine, while La Tavola del Maniero served historical dishes with hydromel and hippocras.
