Veneto Rediscovers its Waterways

The Regional Day of River Tourism is an initiative promoted by the Veneto Region to enhance rivers and canals as an environmental, cultural, and tourist resource. In Portogruaro, in the Province of Venice, the event focuses on the Lemene River, which flows through the historic center and has shaped the city's identity since medieval times.

Cruises and Excursions along the Lemene

The program includes cruises lasting about two hours along the Lemene, departing from the pier in Via Molini, and guided tours of the area's landmarks: the evocative Mulini di Sant'Andrea (Sant'Andrea Mills), historic villas, and the most fascinating river stretches. The boat excursions also reach the archaeological sites of Concordia Sagittaria, the ancient Roman colony of Iulia Concordia.

Between Nature, History, and Archaeology

The initiative combines naturalistic and cultural dimensions: guided walks, museum activities, and water experiences offer a unique perspective on the Eastern Veneto landscape, seen from the river. Booking is generally required for cruises, with limited spots.
