Edition 2025 — Ratha Yatra Rome

The 2025 edition of the Ratha Yatra in Rome was held at Piazza del Popolo, in the historic center of the capital. The celebration of the Chariot Festival, organized by the ISKCON community, attracted a large audience and saw the participation of the Ambassador of India to Italy, Vani Rao, testifying to the intercultural value of the event.

Ratha Yatra in Rome 2025

In May 2025, Piazza del Popolo hosted a new edition of the Ratha Yatra, the traditional Indian Chariot Festival brought to Rome by the ISKCON (Hare Krishna) community. The large sacred chariot, with the deities Jagannath, Baladeva, and Subhadra, was pulled by hand by devotees along the square amidst chanting, dancing, and devotional music.

The well-attended event saw the presence of the Ambassador of India to Italy, Vani Rao, confirming the importance of this appointment as a bridge between Indian culture and the city of Rome. As per tradition, there was also the distribution of prasadam, the vegetarian food shared with all those present.
