A Theatre Reborn

The Teatro della Quattordicesima, located at Via Oglio 18 in Milan's Corvetto district (Municipality 4, Province of Milan, Lombardy), is a historic venue that has reopened its doors after twelve years of closure. Quartieri in Scena - Independent Theatre Festival is one of the flagship initiatives of this rebirth: a showcase bringing the best of Italian independent theatre to the neighbourhood.

Eight Companies, Every Tuesday

The festival runs through the 2025/2026 season, with performances every Tuesday evening at 8:30 PM, from January to May. Scheduled are eight independent theatre companies, some from Milan and others from different Italian cities, with a programme spanning classical theatre, comedy, drama, and reinterpretations of great authors.

The People's Jury

A distinctive feature is the popular jury of students, tasked with evaluating the performances: a way to engage young people and give the festival a participatory dimension, in line with its neighbourhood theatre vocation. Among the titles on the bill are Plautus's "Aulularia," "All the World's a Stage in 90 Minutes," Molière's "The Imaginary Invalid," and contemporary drama and comedy shows.

Accessible Theatre

With its reduced prices, Quartieri in Scena aims to be accessible theatre, capable of bringing even those who don't usually frequent theatres closer to the stage. A cultural project that restores an important hub to Corvetto and bets on independent theatre as a community driver.
