Edition 2025 — Purgatory Bean Festival
The 20th edition, from August 22 to 24, 2025
The twentieth edition of the Purgatory Bean Festival animated Gradoli, on Lake Bolsena, for three consecutive evenings: Friday 22, Saturday 23, and Sunday 24 August 2025. The venue was, as always, the Mensa degli Incappucciati of the Purgatory Brotherhood, in the historic center of the Viterbo village.
The menu focused on the Purgatory bean, served in soup and with olive oil, accompanied by local traditional staples and regional wines. The three evenings were accompanied by live music in an atmosphere of a well-attended village festival, with numerous lake vacationers alongside the inhabitants of Gradoli.
In 2025, the event once again confirmed its charitable vocation: the service was carried out entirely by the volunteers of the confraternity, and the proceeds were donated to charity, in accordance with the spirit in which the Brotherhood has operated since the 16th century.
