Edition 2025 — Prugnolo Festival

In 2025, Montieri once again renewed its appointment with the Prugnolo Festival, dedicated to the prized spring mushroom of the Colline Metallifere. The historic center of the Grosseto village hosted prugnolo-based dinners and lunches, piazza aperitifs, a local product market, a mycological exhibition, woodland hikes, and shows, confirming a gastronomic tradition deeply felt by the Maremma community.

The 2025 edition of the Prugnolo Festival brought the May weekend dedicated to the prugnolo mushroom back to Montieri, in the Province of Grosseto. As per tradition, the village's historic center hosted dinners and lunches featuring the delicious mushroom, prugnolato aperitifs in the square, and a market of local products and crafts, accompanied by a mycological exhibition.

There was no shortage of hikes in the Colline Metallifere woods and moments of entertainment and shows, in an event organized by the Municipality of Montieri with the La Meria Cultural Association that attracts foodies and nature lovers to the Tuscan Maremma every year.
