Edition 2025 — Processione dei Cornuti

The 2025 edition of the Processione dei Cornuti took place on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM, starting from Largo San Nicola in San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore. The lighthearted procession of men with horns and cowbells wound through the historic center amidst the songs of the Congrega, followed by children with lanterns, concluding with the dance of the pupa and the spezzatino alla cornuta.

St. Martin's Eve 2025 brought the ancient ritual of the Processione dei Cornuti back to San Valentino in Abruzzo Citeriore. On Monday, November 10, 2025, from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM, the procession set off from Largo San Nicola to traverse the village alleys. Men paraded ringing cowbells and carrying horns like relics, chanting the songs of the Congrega, while children followed with lanterns, asking for sweets from house to house.

The evening concluded with the spectacular danza della pupa amidst fireworks and the tasting of spezzatino alla cornuta accompanied by local wines, confirming the vitality of one of the most original folk traditions in Abruzzo.
