Procession of the Mysteries of Good Friday

2025 Edition

The 2025 Holy Week in Grumo Appula, organized by the Good Friday Committee led by delegate president Vito Savino, featured several events. On Friday, April 11, the 6:30 PM Holy Mass preceded the 7:30 PM procession of Maria Santissima Addolorata and the traditional «U Venerdì Sande» chant in Piazza Kennedy.

After the Translation of the Mysteries on Wednesday, April 16, and the Maundy Thursday rites, the culmination arrived on Good Friday, April 18: solemn commemoration at 5:00 PM and, at 7:00 PM, the Procession of the twelve Mysteries along Corso Umberto, with a blessing in Piazza San Pio X. The funeral marches were performed by the Gran Concerto Bandistico Città di Grumo Appula, the local Bassa Musica, and the Grande Banda del Cilento.

Holy Week 2025

• Friday, April 11: Holy Mass 6:30 PM; procession of Maria SS. Addolorata 7:30 PM; Canto del Venerdì Santo in Piazza Kennedy;
• Sunday, April 13 (Palm Sunday): Blessing of the Palms 9:45 AM at the Church of San Rocco, procession to the Mother Church, Eucharist 10:30 AM;
• Wednesday, April 16: Translation of the Mysteries 7:00 PM;
• Thursday, April 17: Mass of the Lord's Supper with the washing of the feet 7:00 PM; Eucharistic adoration 11:00 PM;
• Good Friday, April 18: Solemn commemoration 5:00 PM; Procession of the Mysteries 7:00 PM along Corso Umberto; blessing in Piazza San Pio X.
