Edition 2025 — Mysteries of Erice
The 2025 Procession of the Mysteries of Erice took place on the afternoon of Good Friday, April 18, with a prompt departure at 2:30 PM from the church of San Giuliano. The religious procession wound through the paved streets of the historic center, led by the confreres of the Congregation of Purgatory in white tunics embroidered with red.
In 2025, the seven groups once again represented the key moments of the Passion of Christ: Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Flagellation, the Crowning with Thorns, the Ascent to Calvary, the Crucifix, the Urn, and the Addolorata wrapped in a black mantle to close the procession. The preparatory rite of the Scinnuta had preceded the procession during the days of Holy Week, once again confirming the strong bond of the Erice community with this ancient tradition.
