Procession of the Mysteries – Good Friday

The 2025 edition of the Procession of the Mysteries took place on Friday, April 18th, Good Friday. The day followed the usual course of the Nardò Holy Week rites: the Rite of the Agony in the afternoon, the solemn Passion of the Lord liturgy at the Cathedral Basilica of Maria SS. Assunta, and, in the evening, the city procession of the Passion statues.

The faithful followed the slow pace of the Dead Christ and Our Lady of Sorrows along the streets of the historic center of Nardò, amidst the notes of the Hymn to the Dead Christ intoned by the Banda Verde and the choir. The procession, which involves the Cathedral Chapter, the city's confraternities, and pious unions, renewed one of the most deeply felt Easter traditions of Salento in 2025 as well.
