Procession of the Madonna della Misericordia

In 2025, the community of Ascoli Satriano, in the Province of Foggia, gathered once again around the Madonna della Misericordia for the feast of its patron saint. On May 1st, the ancient Byzantine icon was carried in a solemn procession from the Chiesa del Soccorso to the Cathedral, where it remained exposed to the veneration of the faithful for the summer period.

The day followed the usual course of the patronal feast: the announcement at dawn with firecrackers, the marches of the brass band in the town squares, the Eucharistic celebration in the Chiesa del Soccorso, and, at the end of the procession, the fireworks display in the medieval site known as "Pozzello". A deeply felt appointment, which renews the bond between the town and its patron saint every year.
