Procession of Saint Francis of Paola (Santu Patri)

2025 Edition

The feast of Saint Francis of Paola in Erice was renewed in 2025, confirming a devotion that has linked the Erice community to its patron saint for generations. The 19th-century wooden statue, attributed to the Erice master Pollina and enriched by the ex-votos of the faithful, left the Church of San Francesco di Paola, near Porta Carmine, to travel through the cobbled streets of the historic center.

The procession, accompanied by the band and managed by the festival committee, volunteers, and bearers, reached the Balio Gardens for the most solemn moment: the blessing of the lands directed towards the Agroericino countryside and the city of Trapani. An edition that confirmed the identity and community value of this religious tradition of the medieval village.
