Edition 2025 — Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Borgo

In 2025, the Borgo district of Rome renewed its devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel around the July 16th feast. From the church of Santa Maria in Traspontina, the statue of the Virgin was carried in procession through the neighborhood streets and Via della Conciliazione, stopping in front of Sant'Anna in the Vatican, while solemn vespers and Mass brought together the faithful and the 'Borghiciani' who returned for the occasion.

2025 Edition

In 2025, the community of the Borgo district celebrated Our Lady of Mount Carmel around July 16th, following a centuries-old Carmelite tradition linked to the church of Santa Maria in Traspontina on Via della Conciliazione. The statue of the Madonna was carried in procession through the streets of the district, with the customary stop in front of the entrance to Sant'Anna in the Vatican. The festivities, including solemn vespers, Mass, and moments of popular devotion, drew numerous faithful to Rome, in the Lazio region, just steps from St. Peter's Basilica.
