Edition 2025 — Our Lady of Monteforte
In 2025, the community of Abriola accompanied the statue of Our Lady of Monteforte in procession from the Mother Church to the mountain sanctuary, where the Virgin remained until August 15th according to the ancient devotional tradition. The ascent retained its penitential character.
The 2025 edition of the ascent procession renewed the Marian rite that links Abriola to Our Lady of Monteforte: after Holy Mass in the Mother Church, the faithful accompanied the statue along the path towards the Sanctuary of Monteforte. The Virgin remained in the mountains until August 15th, the feast of the Assumption, when the baroque-style descent was celebrated with festivities in the piazza.
