2025 Polenta Festival in Proceno: the eighth edition
In 2025, the Polenta Festival of Proceno, in the province of Viterbo, returned with its two-weekend format: Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23, followed by Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30. The service took place in the municipal hall located within Palazzo Guido Ascanio Sforza, opening on Saturdays from 7:30 PM and Sundays from 12:30 PM, offering polenta variations from the Upper Tuscia peasant tradition.
The village accompanied the tastings with live music, folk dancing, and markets featuring local products, while the frescoed halls of Palazzo Sforza and the Museum of Peasant Civilization remained open to visitors. Two sporting events were paired with the festival, both departing at 9:00 AM from the palace: on Sunday, November 23, the fifth Anello di Proceno Gravel Cycling Tour, open to mountain bikes and e-bikes on 55 and 97-kilometer routes; on Sunday, November 30, the fifth Anello di Proceno Hike, with 10, 14, and 27-kilometer trails through badlands, woods, and white roads on the border between Lazio and Tuscany.
