Edition 2025 — Pro Loco Giarre Christmas Competitions
The 2024 Christmas edition of the Pro Loco Giarre Christmas Competitions concluded on Saturday, January 18, 2025, with the awards ceremony in the Town Hall's Salone degli Specchi. That year, the four contests — tree, family nativity, shop windows, and school competition — animated Giarre and its hinterland, with the participation of citizens, schools, and merchants from the Ionian-Etna territory.
The 2024 Christmas award winners
The ceremony was held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in the Salone degli Specchi of the Giarre Town Hall, in the presence of Mayor Leo Cantarella, Councilor Antonella Santonoceto, and Pro Loco President Salvo Zappalà.
- Decorate the Most Beautiful Tree: 1st Santa Tomarchio, 2nd Angela Sciuto, 3rd Maria Guarrera.
- Nativity Scene of the Giarre Family: 1st Alfia Patanè, 2nd Alfia Campione, 3rd Francesco Calì.
- Christmas in the Shop Window: 1st Ornamentalfiori di Giusi Tabbuso, 2nd Fiori e Fantasie di Raciti Carmela, 3rd Atelier Sposa Raciti.
Numerous classes from elementary and middle schools in the district participated in the school competition The Tradition of the Nativity Scene in the Ionian-Etna Hinterland.
