Edition 2025 — Presepe a Teatro

On December 29, 2025, the historic center of Villetta Barrea hosted a new edition of Presepe a Teatro, the living nativity scene involving the entire village community. About one hundred participants in 19th-century costumes brought the alleys to life with ancient crafts—blacksmith, baker, carpenter, shoemaker, washerwoman—leading up to the Nativity scene set up in the upper part of the village, overlooking the Vallis Regia. Torches, traditional carols, and tastings of local sweets accompanied visitors along the route.

In the late afternoon of December 29, 2025, Villetta Barrea renewed its most cherished Christmas appointment. The living nativity scene wound its way along the stairways and alleys of the historic center, with ancient crafts reconstructed in their settings and the village community as the absolute protagonist.

The Nativity scene, set up in the upper part of the village with a view of the Vallis Regia, once again represented the most emotional moment of the evening, with the village's latest newborn playing the role of Baby Jesus. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Villetta Barrea in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, confirmed itself as one of the most evocative living nativity scenes in the region, with free admission.
