Japanese pop art on display at Palazzo Gallo in Osimo
From November 21, 2025, to April 6, 2026, Palazzo Gallo in Osimo (Province of Ancona, Marche) hosts Pop Japan. The Great Pop Masters of the Land of the Rising Sun, an exhibition that brings the visual power and colors of Japanese pop art to Osimo's historic center. The exhibition features over forty unique and significant works, the result of a project curated by Giuseppe Stagnitta and produced by the MetaMorfosi Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Osimo and A.S.S.O. (Azienda Speciale Servizi Osimo).
The exhibition is divided into five thematic sections that follow the evolution of Japanese pop art, from its American-influenced experiments to the most contemporary trends of so-called Superflat. Each room is dedicated to a protagonist who has contributed to defining the visual imagery of the Land of the Rising Sun.
Pop Japan is a rare opportunity to admire a collection of works in the Marche region that illustrate how Japan has reinterpreted the pop language, transforming it into a global phenomenon ranging from anime to contemporary art. The setting is the elegant Palazzo Gallo, a historic building in the center of Osimo, a city of art nestled in the hills of Ancona. This exhibition is suitable for contemporary art enthusiasts, as well as families and young people attracted by the colorful and immediate aesthetic of Japanese pop culture.
The exhibition is part of the vibrant cultural program of Osimo, a historic town in the Province of Ancona known for its underground caves, noble palaces, and a season of events that enlivens the center year-round. Visiting Pop Japan is also an opportunity to discover the charm of one of the most evocative towns in the interior Marche.
