The 2025 Carnival

In 2025, the Polizzi Generosa Carnival once again confirmed its identity as a historical re-enactment during the Carnival days, culminating on Shrove Tuesday (March 4). The halls of the historic center, decorated for the occasion, hosted the Fistini di ballu with ribbon dances, poets' rounds, stick dances, contradanzas, and 'u ringu'.

Wearing the Dominò, the dark hooded cloak that covers the face, the locals brought lively, itinerant dances to the village streets until late at night, amidst tarantellas, mazurkas, and the improvised verses of the poets. A festival that keeps one of the most authentic carnival traditions of the province of Palermo alive in the heart of the Madonie every year.
