PLIS of the Lower Olona Festival

The Park Celebrates

The PLIS of the Lower Olona Festival is the day dedicated to the Local Intermunicipal Park of Interest, a protected green area that extends between Rho, a municipality in the Province of Milan, and the surrounding towns. The PLIS is a shared space that promotes environmental protection, public access, and agriculture on an inter-municipal scale: the festival celebrates its value by opening it up to families and visitors.

Four Municipalities, One Festival

The event brings together four municipalities — Rho (lead municipality), Pregnana Milanese, Pogliano Milanese, and Vanzago — in one large festival in the green, at Fontanile Serbelloni, in the Costa Azzurra area. An example of territorial collaboration that focuses on nature and community spirit.

Nature, Agriculture, and Music

The program is rich and designed for all ages: guided walks to the historic Mulino di Sant'Elena, band concerts from the municipalities, tractor rides and wagon rides offered by local farmers, workshops and environmental education, beekeeping demonstrations, wooden games, and tastings. There is also an outdoor picnic area to fully enjoy the park.

Environmental Education for the Little Ones

Plenty of space for children, with dedicated activities such as the Pizza Workshop, which teaches the secrets of flours, doughs, and leavening, and traditional games. The festival thus becomes a moment of environmental and food education, capable of bringing new generations closer to the natural and rural heritage of the Rho area.
