Pizza Festival 2025: twenty years of wood-fired ovens

From August 16 to 19, 2025, the Frolice district of Ariano Irpino, in the province of Avellino, hosted the 20th edition of the Pizza Festival. A round anniversary for the event born in 2004 from the initiative of a group of friends in memory of Francesco Albanese, which has grown to become one of the most popular gastronomic events of the Irpinian summer.

In 2025, the formula remained the tried-and-tested one: wood-fired ovens lit for four consecutive nights, pizzas prepared with local and genuine ingredients, gluten-free and lactose-free options, tray-baked pizza, sandwiches, desserts, and craft beer, all accompanied by other typical products of Irpinian cuisine. Live music and comedy shows took turns on stage, while entry and parking remained free, as per the festival's tradition.

The edition was organized by the Pro Loco Frolice Francesco Albanese APS with the work of its volunteers, and confirmed the festival's charitable vocation, with proceeds supporting the association's social activities in the municipality of Ariano Irpino.
