Edition 2025 — Pisa-Livorno Vernacular Duel
In 2025, the Sagra del Frate in Vicarello once again hosted the vernacular duel between Pisa and Livorno, confirming a beloved event for the Collesalvetti community. On the festival stage, performers of popular theater from both cities took turns, creating a competition of sonnets, folk songs, and dialect sketches.
The evening, with free admission, was part of the rich summer program of the festival dedicated to the "frate," the traditional fried and sugared donut, organized by Pro Loco Vicarello with the support of the Municipality of Collesalvetti.
