Pioppo Carduni Vruricatu Festival

The third edition (2025)

The third edition of the Pioppo Carduni Vruricatu Festival took place on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Piazza Manzoni, in Pioppo (Monreale), expanding to two days for the first time. The inauguration was held on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM, with stalls open until 9:00 PM on both days.

Visitors were able to taste the carduni vruricatu in its typical preparations—battered and fried, boiled, and in salad—accompanied by sausage, sfince, and traditional biscuits, at a cost of about 5 euros per person. The program included folk entertainment by the traveling group "Trinacria Bedda" and the involvement of students from the I.I.S.S. Danilo Dolci. Despite the rain, the 2025 edition closed with great public success, confirming the event's deep roots in the Monreale territory and the Oreto Valley.
