Pilgrimage to San Bartolomeo in Legio

The 2025 edition of the Pilgrimage to San Bartolomeo in Legio confirmed, as every year, the secular rite of the Roccamorice community. On August 25th, at dawn, the faithful reached the Hermitage of San Bartolomeo in Legio, in the Valle dello Spirito, for the water ritual at the Sorgente del Catenaccio and the immersion in the Capo la Vena stream. Around 7 AM, the wooden statue of the Saint was carried on shoulders in procession, amidst songs and prayers, to the monument to the emigrant and then to the church of San Donato, where Holy Mass was celebrated. The statue remained kept in the village until its return to the hermitage in the first days of September.
