Pichuco Festival

The first edition of the Pichuco Festival brought the historic center of Archi, in the province of Chieti, to life on July 26, 2025, on the fiftieth anniversary of Aníbal Troilo's passing. At 5:00 PM, in Largo Fontana Tommaso Melchiorre, the round table "Aníbal Troilo Pichuco. The myth, the music, and the origins" was held, featuring Leonardo Porreca, the musician's nephew Francisco Alejandro Torné, Daniela Fidanza, and anthropologist Lia Giancristofaro, followed by a concert by Simone Marini and La Gran Tango and performances by professional tango couples. In the evening, in the Vittime di Rigopiano Council Chamber, the book by Nicola Corona dedicated to the "bandoneón mayor de Buenos Aires" was presented; at 9:45 PM in Piazza G. Marconi, the performance "Danzando l'invisibile. Viaggio tra Tango e Arte" and the milonga with La Gran Tango took place. The day was completed by the photographic exhibition "Toda una vida", featuring material from the Museo Casa Carlos Gardel in Buenos Aires, and a food stand with empanadas and Abruzzo desserts.
