Edition 2025 — Piazza Armerina Opera Festival
The first edition of the Piazza Armerina Opera Festival took place in August 2025 in Piazza Cattedrale, marking the arrival of opera in the Enna town. The program featured three absolute masterpieces of melodrama: Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata (August 17), Georges Bizet's Carmen (August 22), and Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana (August 30), the latter being deeply tied to Sicilian roots.
Promoted by the Municipality of Piazza Armerina together with the Sicilia Classica Festival, under the artistic direction of Maestro Nuccio Anselmo, the festival transformed the baroque square into an evocative open-air theatre. Tickets, sold via TicketOne and LiveTicket, started at approximately 30 euros. A debut that solidified the vision of a new operatic landmark in the heart of Sicily, combining great music with regional promotion.
