Piave Wine Celebrated
In Candelù, a hamlet of Maserada sul Piave in the province of Treviso, the Piave Wines Exhibition is the event that kicks off spring. Also known as the May 1st Festival, in 2026 it celebrates its 49th edition: almost two weeks of festivities in Piazza San Pio X, where the wine exhibition intertwines with the great tradition of Venetian village festivals.
Tastings and Great Wines
The heart of the event is the wine exhibition, open every evening, featuring the great red and white wines with the Piave Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) and the prestigious Malanotte del Piave DOCG. Guided tastings, also supported by sommeliers, accompany the public in discovering the territory's enological excellences, in dialogue with the Malanotte d'Estate exhibition.
Music, Sports, and Fun
A very rich program revolves around wine: concerts and tribute bands, musical and dancing evenings, sports tournaments and five-a-side football, the traditional motorcycle rally with cars and motorcycles, the funfair, and the fireworks display. The food stall offers dishes from Venetian cuisine, with evening openings on weekends and lunches on key days. Organized by the Gruppo Sportivo e Culturale Candelù (Candelù Sports and Cultural Group), the event is one of the most rooted and attended events on the left bank of the Piave river.
Piave Wines Exhibition — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, the 49th, kicks off on Wednesday, April 22, with the opening evening and a dinner dedicated to producers, and continues until May 3 in Piazza San Pio X in Candelù. The wine exhibition is open every evening, with guided tastings, food stalls on weekends, concerts, tournaments, and the traditional motorcycle rally marking almost two weeks of festivities organized by the Gruppo Sportivo e Culturale Candelù.

- Wednesday, April 22 — Opening evening and dinner for producers, opening of the wine exhibition
- Thursday, April 23 — Scopa all'asso card game competition
- Friday, April 24 — Children's entertainment, semi-finals of the 5-a-side football tournament, "Remember Lunedì Italiano" evening
- Saturday, April 25 — 21st "Su e so par ponti e caneve - Memorial Piero Voltarel" motorcycle rally, Para-Karate and Candelù Karate Fest events
- Until May 3 — Musical and dancing evenings, concerts and tribute bands, funfair, sports tournaments, guided tastings of Piave wines, and fireworks display
Stalls and Tastings
Wine exhibition open every evening. Food stall open in the evenings from 7:00 PM on weekends, with lunch on April 25-26 and May 1. Featured wines: Piave DOC and Malanotte del Piave DOCG. The evening-by-evening schedule may vary.
