2025 edition cancelled due to Bluetongue

The 162nd edition of the Piano Roseto Pastoral Fair, initially scheduled for July 4, 5, and 6, 2025, between Cortino and Crognaleto, was cancelled. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure following the recent circulation of the Bluetongue virus in the Teramo area, confirmed by the results of the "G. Caporale" Zooprophylactic Experimental Institute of Abruzzo and Molise.

As the event focuses on the exhibition of herds and livestock, the presence of animals from different farms would have posed a health risk. Bluetongue affects sheep, goats, and cattle but does not pose a danger to humans, nor do the derived products (dairy, meat, arrosticini). The fair returned regularly in 2026.
