Pianello Wheat Festival 2025
The twelfth edition of the Pianello Wheat Festival was held on August 1st and 2nd, 2025, in Petralia Soprana. The evening of Friday, August 1st, was dedicated to street food prepared by the village housewives, accompanied by the roving music of the group "Generazione Liga".
On Saturday, August 2nd, the re-enactment of the "pisata" took place, featuring the traditional threshing of wheat with mules, alongside the recitation of ancient folk sayings and the "spartenza" of the harvest on the threshing floor. The day concluded with tastings of bread, fresh pasta, baked desserts, and savory specialties, as well as folk music by accordionist Michele Gennaro and his band. The event was promoted by the Circolo Culturale Pianellese with the patronage of the Municipality of Petralia Soprana.
