Edition 2025 — Piana degli Albanesi Carnival

In 2025, the Kalivari once again colored Piana degli Albanesi with its evenings of masked dances in the Corso Kastriota clubs. True to Arbëreshë tradition, the festival saw masked women inviting men to dance, culminating in the parade of allegorical floats and the tasting of traditional loshka and petulla sweets.

The 2025 Kalivari

The 2025 edition of the Piana degli Albanesi (PA) Carnival renewed the ancient tradition of the Kalivari, with the Corso Kastriota clubs transforming into dance halls on weekends and during the peak period of Shrove Tuesday.

Masked women, the true protagonists of the festival according to Arbëreshë custom, enlivened the evenings to the rhythm of music and dance. The festivities concluded with a parade of allegorical floats and masked groups along Corso Kastriota and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, accompanied by traditional loshka and petulla sweets.
