Pettineo Short Movie Fest

The first edition of the Pettineo Short Movie Fest was held on June 27 and 28, 2025, in Contrada Porracina, Pettineo, in the Nebrodi mountains. The final evening on June 28 featured the awards ceremony for the winning works in the three competition categories.

• Narrative Short: Winner, Pinocchio Reborn by Matteo Cirillo;
• Documentary: Winner, La Lixeria by Guido Galante and Antonio Notarangelo, focusing on the Maputo landfill in Mozambique;
• Sicily Section: Winner, La Fèmmina by Simona De Simone.

Alongside the winners, the technical and popular juries awarded several special mentions. The event transformed the small village in the province of Messina into a hub for short cinema for two days, featuring open-air screenings and meetings with the filmmakers.
