Petralilium in Praesepio

The 2025-2026 edition of Petralilium in Praesepio was highly anticipated: after many years of forced closure due to a landslide, the miniature nativity scene of Petralia Sottana finally reopened to the public in the Chiesa del Monte di Pietà. The exhibit was open for visits from December 12, 2025, to January 6, 2026.

Visitors were able to admire the faithful miniature reproduction of the town's main monuments—from the Mother Church to Piazza Finocchiaro Aprile, from the former Convent of the Reformed Fathers to the Church of San Francesco—alongside scenes of traditional trades and Madonie rural life. The reopening represented an important moment for the community of Petralia Sottana and the entire Madonie area in the province of Palermo.
