The Carnival in the historic center of Pergola, with masks, music, and confetti
The Pergola Carnival is the Carnival event that transforms the historic center of Pergola, an elegant town in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region, into a large outdoor party space every winter. For an entire afternoon, the streets and squares of the town light up with colors, music, and joy, attracting families, children, and masked groups from Pergola and the nearby towns in the Cesano valley.
The heart of the event beats among the municipal arcades, Piazza Ginevri, and Corso Matteotti, the main axis of Pergola's historic center. This is where the masks parade, group dances form, and the air fills with confetti and streamers. The bars and shops in the center also participate in the party, offering typical Carnival sweets to those who come in costume.
The afternoon is marked by music, entertainment, and lots of fun for all ages. Among the most anticipated moments is the Carneval Family Show, a show dedicated to families with characters and superheroes much loved by children, accompanied by confetti for everyone and candy tosses for the little ones.
Those who wish to participate in the parade can register and compete for awards, divided into several categories: the best group mask, the single mask, and the category dedicated to children. This is a way to celebrate the creativity of those who carefully prepare costumes and disguises, the true soul of the party.
The Pergola Carnival is organized by the municipal administration of Pergola in collaboration with the businesses in the center, with the support of local associations. More than just an event, it is a moment of community that unites the entire town around the Carnival tradition, in a familiar and popular atmosphere typical of the inland towns of the Marche region.
The 2026 edition of the Pergola Carnival was held on Sunday, February 15, starting at 3 PM in the historic center of Pergola. The party unfolded between the municipal arcades, Piazza Ginevri, and Corso Matteotti.
The highlight was the Carneval Family Show, with characters loved by children such as Captain Hook and Spyderman, accompanied by candy tosses for the little ones and confetti for everyone. The bars in the center offered typical Carnival sweets to those who came in costume.
The awards ceremony involved the best group mask, the single mask, and the children's category. Organized by the municipal administration with the collaboration of the businesses in the center, the edition concluded with great public success.
Pergola is located in the hinterland of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, along the Cesano valley. By car, it can be reached from the SS3 Flaminia with an exit towards Pergola, or from the Fano-Grosseto highway. The party animates the historic center: municipal arcades, Piazza Ginevri, and Corso Matteotti. The area is pedestrianized during the event.
Admission to the event is free. Registration is required to participate in the parade and awards ceremony; information is available on the Pergola Municipality's social media channels.
