The mussel festival at Alberoni
The Festa del Peocio is the big summer festival of Alberoni, the locality at the southern end of Lido di Venezia. The "peocio" is the mussel in Venetian dialect, the absolute star of a festival celebrating the flavours of the sea and seaside conviviality.
Food stalls, fairground rides, and music
For a week, the area comes alive with food stalls where you can taste mussels and traditional seafood dishes, fairground rides, markets, shows, and live music. A rich and varied programme that attracts residents and tourists holidaying on the Lido.
Sports tournaments
Among the most anticipated events are the sports tournaments: the "Memorial Nicola Vianello", an amateur football tournament, and a golf tournament organized in collaboration with the Golf Club Venezia, which has its historic course nestled among the dunes right at Alberoni.
The Lido's summer festival
Organized by Pro Loco Lido di Venezia–Pellestrina together with the Associazione Alberoni e Vela, and included in the Le Città in Festa programme of the Municipality of Venezia (VE), in Veneto, the Festa del Peocio is one of the highlights of the Alberoni summer, in a charming natural setting between the beach, pine forest, and dunes.
Peocio Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Festa del Peocio enlivens the Alberoni area, on the Lido of Venice, from August 20 to 27. For a week, food stalls dedicated to "peocio" (mussels), fairground rides, markets, shows, and live music celebrate the Alberoni summer.
Among the sporting events are the "Memorial Nicola Vianello", an amateur football tournament, and a golf tournament in collaboration with Golf Club Venezia. The festival is organized by Pro Loco Lido di Venezia–Pellestrina with the Associazione Alberoni e Vela and is part of the "Le Città in Festa" programme.

How to get there
Alberoni is located at the southern end of Lido di Venezia. You can reach it from Lido by ACTV bus (line 11), or by vaporetto to Lido and then bus. From the centre of Venice, take an ACTV vaporetto to Lido.
